DTF gang sheets

DTF gang sheet size guide

Every sheet we print is 23 inches wide and priced by length. This guide shows the approved lengths and roughly how many designs fit on each one so you can pick the right sheet before you upload.

Sheet sizes

Approved sheet lengths and prices

All gang sheets are 23" wide. You pay for length, not design count, so nesting more artwork on a sheet lowers your cost per print.

Estimated fit

How many designs fit on a sheet

These numbers are estimates only. They assume simple rectangular designs with about a quarter inch of spacing on a 23 inch wide sheet. Real counts change with artwork shape, orientation and how tightly the layout can be nested.

Planning

Advice by print placement

Pocket and sleeve prints

Usually 2.5"–4" wide. These nest extremely efficiently — a 12" sheet can carry a couple dozen small logos. Keep at least 0.25" between pieces so they can be cut apart cleanly.

Youth prints

Typically 7"–9" wide. Two fit side by side across the 23" width. If you are printing a mixed youth and adult run, group the youth pieces together so the rows stay tight.

Adult front prints

Commonly 10"–12" wide. Two per row is the practical maximum. An 11" x 11" front at two per row uses about 11.25" of sheet length per pair.

Full back prints

Usually 12"–14" wide and up to 16"–18" tall. Only one fits per row, so back prints consume length quickly — plan on roughly one back print per 16"–18" of sheet.

Layout tips

Get more out of every sheet

  • Keep about 0.25" of clear space between designs so pieces can be trimmed apart.
  • Leave a small margin from the sheet edge — do not run artwork to the very edge of the 23" width.
  • Rotate tall designs 90 degrees when it lets you fit another piece in the same row.
  • Group designs by size so rows stay uniform and less length is wasted.
  • Set your artwork at the exact size you intend to press — we print files as submitted.
  • Order the next length up if your layout is borderline; length is cheaper than a reprint.

Included with every order: a digital production proof showing exactly how your sheet will print. Printing starts only after you approve it, and there is no charge for it.

Optional add-on: if you would rather send loose files and have our team nest and arrange them for the best yield, add gang sheet layout for $25.00 per order. That is a design service, not a proof fee.

Not sure how to arrange it? Send us your loose files with that add-on — or read the DTF artwork preparation guide first.

Questions

Gang sheet sizing FAQ

+ How wide is a DTF gang sheet?

Every gang sheet we print is 23 inches wide. You choose the length: 12", 24", 36", 60", 120" or 240". The width is fixed by our film roll, so plan your layout around 23 inches of usable width minus a small margin.

+ How many designs fit on a gang sheet?

It depends entirely on the size and shape of your artwork and the spacing between pieces. The counts on this page are estimates based on rectangular designs with about 0.25 inch of spacing. Tall, wide or irregular shapes will nest differently.

+ Can I mix different designs and sizes on one sheet?

Yes. A gang sheet is priced by length, not by design count, so you can nest as many different designs and sizes as physically fit. Many customers combine a full back print, a few front prints and several small pocket logos on the same sheet.

+ Which sheet length should I order?

For a handful of small logos the 12" or 24" sheet is usually enough. For a mixed apparel run, most shops order 60" or 120". The 240" sheet is the best value per square inch for larger production runs.

+ What happens if my layout does not fit?

We check every layout before printing and send a proof for approval. If something does not fit or sits too close to the edge, we will tell you before anything is printed so you can adjust or move up a sheet length.

+ Do you charge extra to lay out my sheet?

You can nest and submit your own sheet at no extra cost, and either way you get a free production proof before we print. If you would rather send loose files and have us arrange them, that is an optional $25.00 design service at checkout.
